inform-mode software package provides Emacs mode for editing Inform files, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install inform-mode
inform-mode is installed in your system.
Make ensure the inform-mode package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep inform-mode *
You will get with inform-mode package name, version, architecture and description in a table
